Treasured Moment

Image
I recently found some wonderful old negatives of my mothers and with the use of a kaiser baas photomaker i was able to scan and reprint the pictures. Some of the ones i found including the one in this layout i never knew existed so it has been such an incredible experience to see them. This picture of my mother and i is so lovely but i have no idea when it was taken or where. The journalling reads as follows - I wish I knew when and where this picture of my mum and I was taken but for reasons that I just don't understand I have very limited memories of my childhood. So finding this gorgeous old picture fills me with a longing and regret for what might have been if she hadn't died so young, she died just before her 51t birthday, nearly the same age as I am now. My relationship with my mum was difficult once I became a teenager and we were estranged for many years. The birth of my son Shaun had started the path of reconciliation but her never knew his Nanna. There were times whe...

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY

Image
I hope that you all have a great Australia Day, with the heat that we will be having I plan to stay inside with my airconditioner and do some scrapping. This page I finished just before midnight last night for the January Sketch Challenge on the Boxx. Jo Tritton (last on right) and her sister drove over from Mudgee for the day just before Christmas which gave Kim, Mary and I the chance to meet her in real life. We had a really lovely lunch at Anything Grows and then took a short walk to Cook Park for a photo shoot. The time just went too quick. I have used some yummy Prima, Pink Paisley and Kaiser pps, gorgeous new Kaiser Paper Blooms, Craft Queen ribbon from the January Ribbon Club and Cosmo Cricket alphas. COOK PARK On Sunday after a really yummy lunch at the Mountain Tea House, Richard and I went for a stroll around the park which is something that we like to do on a semi regular basis, I always take my camera as the park is always changing. Here are a few that I took that day, I ho...

Awesome day of scrapping

Image
Had the best day yesterday scrapping with Mary, Kim and Robyn at my place. We had a great and very healthy lunch and then enjoyed some retail therapy at the home of the Craft Queen aka Nicole. She has an awesome range and it was lethal to the purse to see it up so close. Did a page for the January challenge at the Boxx of my son Shaun on his front day of kindergarten, he was five and a half and so excited. As most Mums do I have kept quite a lot of his school stuff and found this little gem, it is a picture that he draw on his first day in Kindergarten. I copied it, resized, cut the wording off the bottom that the teacher wrote and then added it to the page where it fitted on so nicely. The gorgeous apple and clouds were sent to me by a lovely lady Sue Schultz and are from the Chip Chop Shop. The kite was from the fantastic Leanne Jago. I also up loaded this page to the Boxx, had done it previously but the pic was pretty ordinary. This is me when I was about two and a half months old....

Finally after six and a half years

Image
I adore carnations and in the six and a half years that we have been together Richard has given me some stunning bunches of flowers but never my fav. He totally shocked me and bought me to tears on Xmas Eve by giving me the most gorgeous bunch I have ever seen. I took a few pics of the blooms to remind myself that he is a truly lovely man.

When I say this gorgeous picture of Noelene on the Boxx I totally fell in love with it and knew that I wanted to scrap it. Then when I saw Kathie's take on TCR #29 I knew that I had to scraplift it. I so enjoyed creating this page, the large hearts were hand cut while the smaller ones were punched. I made the clouds the same way as the large hearts and the kite was made from two scraps of pp and some thin ribbon was perfect for the tails. The cute little owl button is from Purple Pumpkin. I used Black Cherry Glimmer Mist and Making Memories Green Mist as well as a Tattered Angel mask. I was so pleased to hear that Noelene liked it, made it all worthwhile.

I was so pleased with the way that this page turned out. It is a page celebrating and relaying how I felt about turning 50. The journalling is on the tag behind my pics and reads as follows - What is is about turning 50 that seems to freak some people out? I LOVED IT. Is it because it can be a time for you to take stock of your life & maybe you don't like what you see? NOT ME. Do you look back at the last 50 years of your life & wonder what you have done & where has it gone? OF COURSE YOU DO. You wouldn't be human if you didn't, but hello it's gone. Look at today & plan for tomorrow. LIFE TRULY IS BEAUTIFUL. LIVE IT. I have been very privileged to have this page picked as the layout of the week at The Boxx and as well won the fortnightly challenge. What a blast life is truly beautiful booyah!
