Orange Paperie & Co February Challenge

Image
The Challenge at Orange Paperie & Co for February  http://www.orangepaperieandco.blogspot.com.au/ is to use the  awesome sketch there by the lovely Kim, as well as using the sketch extras like buttons, sequins/beads had to be added. I kept pretty much to the sketch itself but I tried a few different things with this page and I have to admit I am pretty happy with the end result. I made a template of the heart, just roughly cut one out of light weight cs and used it as a mask (saw this used on a Creative Jumpstart on Natalie Kalbachs' Blog). Over the top of that and in the position it wanted I placed strips of plasterboard joint tape (saw this on an episode of Scrap It TV) and scrapped gesso over the top. Lifted it off and wow what a great effect. Used an orange, red and yellow crayon to add a few highlights and then sprayed with glimmermist, used Key Lime Pie, Jack Frost, Sunshine and Tuttie Frutti. A black pen was great for outlining the shapes and then some lov...

Happy New Year

Image
Happy New Year to everyone......and as we all know the New Year is about resolutions and also new beginings.....so with this in mind one of my resolutions is to post much more regularily on my blog and to also comment on yours as well plus do a few more challenges and.......well you get the picture. So I am going to start off with a couple of cards and layouts that I did for Nicole aka Craft Queen http://www.craftqueen.com.au/index.php . Nicole very graciously asked me to use the ribbons from the January Ribbon Club http://www.craftqueen.com.au/ribbon-club/january-2013-ribbon-club/prod_11606.html and they are just so beautiful. With these I did the following layouts, the first is of my one of my gorgeous neices Haylee - I used the beautiful velvet green ribbon and placed the cute dotted pink one on top, tied a bow out of the blue and wrapped a pretty little rose around the center. All the embellies used are available from Craft Queen, I especially like the little wooden fl...

Latest Challenge at Orange Paperie and Co

Image
Just recently I posted an amazing challenge at http://orangepaperieandco.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/september-challenge.html and while it is truly amazing it is also a lot of fun. I created a recipe and then had to scrap a page for it, I don't tend to think these things through carefully sometimes, basically just go that sounds like a great idea, let's do that and then it's ooh now I have to do it. The end result was a page I really love, gorgeous pic of my three cheeky nephews and lots of fun embellies from the Boys only Embellie kit at my2angels http://www.my2angels.net/p/7551/Boys-ONLY-Embellishment-Kit.html . The products and colours were just perfect and really made the page come alive. The recipe is 1 black and white pic ribbon chippy/s inking distressing and a two word title    and here is my page                         I used an old copy of Tom Sawyer for the ...

It's been a while

Image
Yes I know, my bad, have let my blog fall by the wayside again, but I am back and would love to share this page that I completed recently for the September Challenge at my2angels. http://www.my2angels.net/s/88/Monthly-Challenge.html The brief was to use Black, White and one other colour with the majority of the products used to be from my2angels. Easy as I totally love and adore the embellie kits that Tracy has created and have purchased quite a few of them in the past. All the embellies on this page are from the first ever kit (excluding the washi tape and butterflies) I bought and which were absolutely perfect for this pic. The alphas were part of the kit and I used some dimensional magic, which I purchased from the shop to add a bit of shine to them. Loved how this page turned out, first time I have played with hexagonals and am really pleased with the effect. Anyway that's it for now, will be back soon to share some more pages, until then, hugs and love Annette xo

Brissy Expo or On the road again (Part I)

Image
Well the gorgeous Miss Kim has certainly done an awesome job of documenting our recent trip to Brissy for the Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo, so, it is time for me to give you all my version, not that much different from hers but just as fun. We started off on a freezing morning at the Orange Railway Station, thankfully the coach was there early so we didn't have to stand around waiting for it. After what was a long day of sitting around we arrived in the gorgeous warmth of Qld, found our Hotel, within walking distance of the Roma Street Railway, bonus. Dumped our gear and found 325 on George just around the corner and had a great steak, chip and salad meal, best thing was that we sat outside, wow it was great. Not too early Friday morning we ventured back to 325 on George for brekkie, snapped this pic to show the gorgeous day and super tall buildings surrounding us. This was our home away from home for the time we were up there, The Explorers Inn, can't say that I...
