October Challenge - ARTastic

I stumbled across this lovely challenge blog via my friend Kim Ewins and really like their October Challenge. The challenges are based around a piece of artwork with other criteria and for this month the added was a vintage style. This is the artwork for October a beautiful painting titled 'The Green Parasol" by E Phillips Fox My take on the Challenge has these lovely old pictures of my brother and I taken 3rd February 1963. I used as my inspiration the lovely shades of green in the painting as well as the pinks in the flowers. To keep with the vintage style I used lots of inking with Ranger Coffee Ink, lovely ribbons, small brown buttons, large owl button (how gorgeous is that) butterflies fussy cut from Collections, die cuts, prima stamp and wooden love from Craft Queen. Natures Splendour

Image
I recently went for a lovely stroll around Orange Botanical Gardens with a dear friend Sharon. Of course I took my camera with me as spring is such a beautiful, and fav, time of the year here, with the amazing zoom I have on it I took this gorgeous pic of a honeyeater doing its thing. Fast forward to the latest challenge at Kraft Plus Challenges which is Inspired by Nature and I knew that I had the perfect pic for it. I used a couple of different stamps - Kaisercraft Arty and Prima Marketing, Lindys Stamp Gang Mist, Scrapmatts leaf, dyed muslin, die cut leaves and twig, black tiny twine, small prima green flower, lasercut chippy butterfly, larger handmade flower, brown leaves and for the nature element seed pods. Loved this challenge so go and have a look at all the amazing ideas there already. Hugs and love Annette xo
