Mixed media canvas

My totally gorgeous and wonderfully talented friend Mary http://mbennetts.blogspot.com.au/ made this stunning canvas for me as a chrissy present.

This was the first one that she made like this ever and omg did she do an amazing job, I was totally blown away by the detail, colours and title.

She used lots of gorgeous pps, napkins, gesso and created something that is so wonderful and orginal that I will cherish it (and her friendship) for always.

Love you Mary, hugs xo

Layouts

I would like to share some pages with you, two I did a little while ago, while the last one is recent.
First up is a page of my stunning cousin Indigo, adored this pic when I saw it on my cousin Sandras' page and just had to scrap it. The pic was taken by a family friend Karen and I love how she kept/added the detail of the flower in her hair.
Used lots of yummies on this, prima flower, alphas and beautiful resin bird, craft queen ribbon and lovely chippie gates (can't remember whose they are) I had two copies of this pic printed so I used the spare, fussy cut out the flower and added it to the page, gives an extra dimension to the photo.

Next is the layout for the Christmas Challenge at Scrap that Song http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com/. I chose one of my fav chrissy carols "Deck the Halls" and scrapped this cute pic of my little great neice Lailah. The pic was perfect for the line in the carol "don ye now our gay apparel" which is what parents do when it's time for the Santa photos.

I used some Kaiser pp and embellies from the Christmas embellie kit from my2angels http://www.my2angels.net/index.html, if you haven't checked out their kits you should they are the best value. Added some glitz to the gorgeous flowers and was pretty happy with how the banner turned out.

Last but by no mean least is my example for the January Challenge at Scrap that Song http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com/ the challenge was nursery rthymes and I found that I knew exactly which picture I wanted to do. This is my son Shaun caught in the act of raiding the cupboard to get to the milk arrowroot biscuits, which were his fav at that age. He always reminded me of Little Jack Corner sitting in the corner.

Used Santa Baby glimmer mist and a prima stencil, another handmade banner, felties from the very generous Susan Maguire, embossed cs from the Boys only emblishment kit http://www.my2angels.net/p/7551/Boys-ONLY-Embellishment-Kit.html, from my2angels and the sweetest little button from our sponsor for the month -Sue from http://soupie75.blogspot.com Lovelybug Bits n Bobs.
The little teddy bear was just perfect and suited the colours on the page.

Well except for a page that I can't show yet but keep an eye on http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com/ that is me up to date with layouts.

Will be back tomorrow to share some, until then hugs and love Annette xo

Well it's about time

Yes it is about time that I updated my blog. I have quite a bit to put here so I may have to do it over a couple of posts.
So where should I start???
I thought I would start with some pics of my craft room. I am very fortunate that from a bad situation something very positive came out of it and that was that i finally have a designated room for my craft. It had been in the kitchen, then the lounge and wherever else i could fit in. As i don't have a very bit house lot's of stuff laying around really doesn't help with the creativity.

Now I have a room that is all mine, it has nothing but all my craft products in it, a comfy lounge, tv and stereo (birthday pressies from my brother) but as you all would relate to, never enough storage space.

Having the desk in front of the window gives me so much gorgeous natural light to work with, and a nice view out (well put those pics up further down) plus it doesn't take up precious wall space.

The small unit on the table is a storage unit on it's side, makes the perfect place to put the tv as well as some of my most used things.

I like to look at my layouts for a while after i have finished them, especially if it's one I really am proud so. So I have used the sleeves from a 3 ring binder and adhered them to the cupboard doors. This way they can be displayed and protected.

I like having a lounge in the room, even though it does take up a fair amount of space it's nice to have somewhere for a friend to sit and chat with me, or just somewhere quiet I can sit and read.

My view out the window is really quite lovely, I am very lucky that I have a school nearly opposite me with a park area beside it. I can look out and see my front yard and the fantastic trees across the road.

Very relaxing.

Well that is all for this post, will do another one tomorrow and share some layouts that I have done.

Hugs and love
Annette xo
