CSI Case File 124

Hello again, would like to share with you all my take, as Special Investigator, on  Case File 124 at CSI. It is such a soft pretty palette and just perfect for this pic of one of my gorgeous neices, Shelby Jade.

I solved the case by using all the colours -
  • Sunrise Shadows - grape color, taken from the background in the bottom left  - 142.54.92
  •  Petal Pink - pale pink, taken from the flower  - 250.226.224
  • Fairy Dust - white, taken from the petals -  255.255.255
  • Dawn Glow - light orange, taken from the background - 249.209.140
  • Morning Sun- pale yellow, taken from the highlights in her hair  - 249.240.197
From the Evidence -  I used butterflies, glitter (on the flowers and butterflies), flowers, rub-ons, stars and ruffle.

  • butterfly
  • glitter
  • flowers
  • rub-ons/stamps
  • ombre
  • wings
  • stars
  • check/plaid pattern
  • ruffle
  • watercolor
  • swirls
  • tiny brads
  • bokeh photo effect (you can do this free on PicMonkey)
For the Testimony I used the Inspiration word - Magic which is in my journalling on a card hidden behind the pic.

I hope that you will have a go at solving this Case File, it really can be used for just about anything.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Hugs and love till next time

CSI #122

Hi again would love to share with you all my latest page as Special Investigator at CSI. Loved the Case File for this one and as a bonus there is a sketch to help add to the creative process.

The colour palette is so fresh and lovely definately not colours that I would normally chose to work with and I think that is so much of the appeal for this site.

  • Orange Sherbet - orange, taken from the flower in the middle  - 254.161.84
  • Guacamole - avocado green, taken from the sprig  - 152.161.106
  • Linen Napkin - white, taken from the highlights of the flower at the top -  255.255.255
  • Placecard - black, taken from the menu - 43.33.24
  • Herb Sprig - celadon green, taken from the sprig  - 210.219.16
I found the sketch challenging but once I found my pics the rest fell into place so easily.

And here is the end result of how I put it all together, the quote on the tag is one that I found online and tweaked a bit to make it suit the page.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look and I hope that you get the chance to have a play with this Case File.
Hugs and love till next time

CSI - #121

Wow..... how exciting I have been asked by the lovely Debbi Tehrani to be a Special Investigator for the month of May at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration. I cannot begin to say how delighted I am and deeply honoured, there is such amazing talent not only on their DT but also with all the other Special Investigators as well.

The colour pallette for this weeks challenge is just gorgeous and they  lend themselves to any type of pic whether it be about your home or whatever else you chose.
  • Merlot - deep burgundy red, taken from the pillow  - 102.26.26
  • Champagne - ivory, taken from the candle  - 244.235.226
  • Pillar Candle - white taken from the light in the window, - 255.255.255
  • Ice Bucket - light gray, taken from the carpet - 208.204.193
  • Bow Tie - black, taken from the tables - 22.17.11

I knew immediately (well after a bit of a think and a walk around the house with the camera) how I wanted to solve this Case File.

A bit over 12 months ago I was informed that my rental home of the last 11 years was being put on the market, to say I was devastated would definately be an understatement. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 1 little ferrett so the chances of finding a house that would let me have all my animals was not looking real good, plus the whole real estate thing, house inspections etc.

Fortunately for me a very close and amazing friend was in a position to buy an investment property, so after what seemed like a short search we found my new home. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am to him, no more agents, no fear of the house being sold, no more putting time and money into a house that isn't mine. This is my home and I just love it!!!!

So here is how I solved Case File #121

The lovely Home Sweet Home sign was a gift from my dear friend Kim Ewins and signifies how I feel about this place.

As there was so much journalling I wanted included I printed it out on white cardstock, cut it into strips and inked the edges so that it wouldn't blend too much into the background.

The washi, twine and red mesh ribbon are all from Craft Queen as is the great Kaisercraft Arty Stamp, one of my favs at the moment.

So once again I would like to thank Debbi for this fantastic opportunity and hope that you all check out this great site and have a play along as well.
