Latest Challenge at Scrap that Song

Well here we are in Novemember already and December breathing down our necks, where has the year gone. Over at Scrapthatsong the new challenges are up and there is such an amazing selection that I am sure you will have no problems in finding something to inspire you.

My song choice is the Tom Jones song "What's New Pussycat" Now I have to admit that this is not one of my favs of Tom, but the lyrics are just so perfect for this gorgeous pic of our kitten Lotus.

"What's New Pussycat"

What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah
What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah
Pussycat, Pussycat
I've got flowers
And lots of hours
To spend with you.
So go and powder your cute little pussycat nose!
Pussycat, Pussycat
I love you
Yes, I do!
You and your pussycat nose!
What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah
What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah
Pussycat, Pussycat
You're so thrilling
And I'm so willing
To care for you.
So go and make up your cute little pussycat face!
Pussycat, Pussycat
I love you
Yes, I do!
You and your pussycat face!
What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah
What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah
Pussycat, Pussycat
You're delicious
And if my wishes
Can all come true
I'll soon be kissing your sweet little pussycat lips!
Pussycat, Pussycat
I love you
Yes, I do!
You and your pussycat lips!
You and your pussycat eyes!
You and your pussycat nose!
I used kraft, a left over piece of Sass Lass from the Mix and Mend collection, kaiser stamp and rubbon, to which i added buttons and flicks of Black glimmer mist. I always find it hard to scrap animals but was really happy with the end result.
So head over to Scrapthatsong and have a play with us, cheers and TFL xo

And I am all alone
There is no one here beside me
And my problems have all gone
There is no one to deride me

But you got to have friends

The feeling's oh so strong
You go to have friends
To make that day last long
I had some friends but their gone
Someone came and took them away
And from the dusk till the dawn
Here is where I'll stay

Standing at the end of the road, boys

Waiting for my new friends to come
I don't care if I'm hungry or bored
I'm gonna get me some of them

Cause you got to have friends

La la la la la la la la la
Friends, I said you,
Oh you, yeah you, I said
You got to have some Friends
Something about friends
Just right friends
Friends, friends, friends

I had some friends oh but they're all gone, gone

Someone came and snatched them away
And from the dusk until the very dawn
You know here is where I gotta stay
Here is where I gotta stay
And I'm standing at the end of a real long road
And I'm waiting for my new friends to come
I don't care if I'm hungry or freezing cold
I'm gonna get me some of them

Cause you got to have friends

That's right friends
Friends,?.I gotta see my, I gotta see my
I gotta see all of my friends, friends
Friends, friends, friends

These are the lyrics to the Bette Midler song "You got to have friends" and is my choice for the October song Challenge at Scrap that Song  I was kind of singing the chorus in my head as I was scrapping these pics of the gorgeous Mary and the lovely Kim but until I read the lyrics I never realise that it was a bit of a sad song. Oh well, take what you want and leave the rest, that's how it works doesn't it?
So without further ado here is my page honoring these two amazing women who are such an important part of my life.

Used lots of yumminess on this page, starting with the pp which is from the Mariposa Stack - DCWV, butterflies punched out of pp from the Prima Madeline A4 stack, Kaiser Paper Bloom, hand made twirl flowers, Websters netting (just gorgeous) and alphas (coloured ones), random small paper roses (local craft shop), small chippie bird cage (bought this at the Brissy expo but can't remember which stand), Prima alphas, ribbon from the lovely Jo Tritton and thanks to the sweet Cheryl O'Brien for letting me play with her Cricut (so want one now). The quote was from A little book of friendship and just the perfect size.
All up I really love the page except not too sure of the alphas on Mares' pic, oh well they are there now.
Anyhoo thanks for stopping by and having a peek, hugs and love to all xo

Yummy Kaiser range

Had a lot of fun scrapping with the gorgeous Mary yesterday and got two layouts done. One I can post now the other will have to be a secret, but watch out for the latest at
awesome new challenges coming up so soon.

Back in the day, they took pics of your new bub on crinkly paper, pink girls, blue boys, a really bright blue in this case, so I made the pic b&w and then, quite shamelessly scraplifted the very talented Karen Shady. I totally loved her baby page using the same Kaiser range and it was all so perfect for this pic.
Used - Kaiser lullaby pp, diecuts and flowers. Bella! chipboard alphas ,stunning flourish from the October "Embellish Me" kit at   handmade gingham button (i am getting very clever you know), muslin from Miss Mary (she has a real thing for it atm), gorgeous Prima Shabby Chic resin bird, Craft Queen ribbon and the metal embellie at the side was on the original page I did of this pic (many many moons ago) plus Martha Stewart and Fiskars punches.
Thanks for stopping by, hugs and love xo

I am so fortunate to have two really awesome ladies, Mary and Kim as my dearest friends, and incredibly lucky that we have the opportunity to get together every second Saturday to scrap.

This Saturday was fantastic as we had the lovely Cheryl (Cootamundra) and the gorgeous Jo (Mudgee) both travel to join us all for the day.

We all had so much fun, scrapping, chatting, playing with the great toys that Jo (bigshot) well looked at Jo's didn't really play, but will next time and Cheryl (cricut) did have a play with it (can see a wish list happening here)

And then of course there was lunch, chicken, tossed salad (with a yummy handmade dressing by Mary) and crusty french stick, but the thing that we were all waiting for was Kims Famous PAV and boy was the wait worth, it think she excelled hereself this this.

And if the look on Jo's face was anything to go by, yes, it tasted as good as it looked, I still have one piece left for afternoon tea today. Yummo!!!!

Then unfortunately it was, all too soon, time for them to leave.
So with thanks to Jo's lovely daughter Elise, who took our group shots, we had another pic taken in my front yard and then I managed to snap a couple of pics of them leaving.

We are already making plans for our next get together and this time Jo and Cheryl will travel down on Friday afternoon and stay with weekend. Wow two days of scrapping, eating and plans to go to the Botanical Gardens here and not to forget shopping with reminds me MASSIVE thanks to Nicole of Craft Queen for the opportunity to shop at her place, it is like an aladins cave of scrappy treasure.
Now if there is any of our scrappy friends out there, who are close enough to us here in Orange, and think oooh that sounds like fun, I would love to join them, well leave some loving and I will let you know once we have a date locked in (very hard trying to sync five women).
Anyhoo hugs and love to all and thanks for stopping by xo

I absolutely adored this pic of us with the pav and so wanted to scrap it first, so when I saw the September Sketch Challenge at the Boxx I knew that is was just perfect for our pic.
So much yummy goodness on this page - from Craft Queen My Minds Eye -Sunsine 6"x6" paper pad, ribbons and ric rac.
