Orange Paperie & Co February Challenge
The Challenge at Orange Paperie & Co for February http://www.orangepaperieandco.blogspot.com.au/ is to use the awesome sketch there by the lovely Kim, as well as using the sketch extras like buttons, sequins/beads had to be added.
I kept pretty much to the sketch itself but I tried a few different things with this page and I have to admit I am pretty happy with the end result.
I made a template of the heart, just roughly cut one out of light weight cs and used it as a mask (saw this used on a Creative Jumpstart on Natalie Kalbachs' Blog). Over the top of that and in the position it wanted I placed strips of plasterboard joint tape (saw this on an episode of Scrap It TV) and scrapped gesso over the top. Lifted it off and wow what a great effect.
Used an orange, red and yellow crayon to add a few highlights and then sprayed with glimmermist, used Key Lime Pie, Jack Frost, Sunshine and Tuttie Frutti. A black pen was great for outlining the shapes and then some lovely washi tape for a bit of added interest.
The large alphas (Buzz and Bloom - Diva) I have had forever, I painted them with red paint and coated with dimensional magic to give the awesome shine.
Oh one other thing I did was some random stamping and with a small paint brush dipped in the Jack Frost glimmer painted in some of the butterflies.
Instead of using one or two pics I decided to fill the heart up with those who are the closest to me, my family and dear friends. I wrote the names of two on the outside of the heart as I didn't have any pics of them but they are still special to me. Obviously there are more people who have a place in my heart as well but I didn't have the room I needed, perhaps another page could be in the making, who knows?
Gorgeous prima flowers, button and filigree flowers, chevron and flower washi are all available from http://www.craftqueen.com.au/.
Butterflies and butterfly washi are from Kaisercraft.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you will have a go at our Challenge.
Hugs and love for now

Love how your large alpha's turned out! You know how much I love your stamped butterflies that you have filled in with glimmermist.
