Scrap that Song - February Challenge

Well February is suppose to be the month of love but here at Scrap that Song http://scrapthatsong.blogspot.com.au/2012/02/break-up-songs.html we decided to put a bit of a different twist on it, by making our Challenge for this month all about "Breakup songs" The dt have many ways of intrepreting this, from real breakups, to being challenged and how a gorgeous little girl got her name.

I went with the meaning of the challenge as I have recently seperated from my partner of seven and a half years. It was a mutual decision but to be facing my 52nd birthday this year single is a very dauting prospect, to say the least.

I tried some different techniques with this page as I feel it is good to push yourself out of your comfort zone, now and then. I used JoSonyas Antique White behind the pic, sprayed it with Jack Frost glimmer mist, and stamped with a  gorgeous Kaiser Butterfly stamp. Even though we are still good friends I decided to add some angst (not real though) to the pic, so I tore it in half, thoroughly crumpled it and inked the edges. The top of the glimmer mist bottle was just the right size to add some inked circles to the ones on the page. I decided to use the masking tape for my journalling, it allowed the pp to show through and to keep it with the rest of the page, I inked circles over it as well.

I'm not 100% that I really like this page, it is certainly far removed from my usual style but it is one, I think, that I would like to repeat and see where it takes me.

The pp is Basic Grey - Out of Print "Tribune", Prima - Reflections Marri mulberry flowers, Ivory Pearl trim, Vintage paper lace - pomegranate, May Arts - Sheer ruffled turquoise ribbon, oval charm and metal rose my2angels http://www.my2angels.net/index.html, Jillbean Soup mini craft alphas, Websters Alphas, Scrapmatt Butterfly and masking tape.

So don't forget to head over to Scrap that Song and join in the challenge, I would love to see what you do.

Hugs and love
