CSI - #121

Wow..... how exciting I have been asked by the lovely Debbi Tehrani to be a Special Investigator for the month of May at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration. I cannot begin to say how delighted I am and deeply honoured, there is such amazing talent not only on their DT but also with all the other Special Investigators as well.

The colour pallette for this weeks challenge is just gorgeous and they  lend themselves to any type of pic whether it be about your home or whatever else you chose.
  • Merlot - deep burgundy red, taken from the pillow  - 102.26.26
  • Champagne - ivory, taken from the candle  - 244.235.226
  • Pillar Candle - white taken from the light in the window, - 255.255.255
  • Ice Bucket - light gray, taken from the carpet - 208.204.193
  • Bow Tie - black, taken from the tables - 22.17.11

I knew immediately (well after a bit of a think and a walk around the house with the camera) how I wanted to solve this Case File.

A bit over 12 months ago I was informed that my rental home of the last 11 years was being put on the market, to say I was devastated would definately be an understatement. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 1 little ferrett so the chances of finding a house that would let me have all my animals was not looking real good, plus the whole real estate thing, house inspections etc.

Fortunately for me a very close and amazing friend was in a position to buy an investment property, so after what seemed like a short search we found my new home. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am to him, no more agents, no fear of the house being sold, no more putting time and money into a house that isn't mine. This is my home and I just love it!!!!

So here is how I solved Case File #121

The lovely Home Sweet Home sign was a gift from my dear friend Kim Ewins and signifies how I feel about this place.

As there was so much journalling I wanted included I printed it out on white cardstock, cut it into strips and inked the edges so that it wouldn't blend too much into the background.

The washi, twine and red mesh ribbon are all from Craft Queen as is the great Kaisercraft Arty Stamp, one of my favs at the moment.

So once again I would like to thank Debbi for this fantastic opportunity and hope that you all check out this great site and have a play along as well.

Hugs and love till next time
